Which web browsers are supported?
SpeakUp Coach works best in Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge. It uses the browser's built-in speech recognition to show your transcript live. When you request feedback, your recorded audio is sent to Deepgram, a speech service, to count filler words.
What does the camera measure?
A face-tracking model (Google MediaPipe) runs on your device and records three raw scores from 0 to 1: smile intensity, brow furrow, and eye openness, averaged over your answer. They are shown as plain numbers and are not interpreted. Video never leaves your browser.
Is creating an account required?
No. Guest practice is completely unrestricted. Creating an account is entirely optional; it lets you see your practice history and STAR score trends across devices.
